Brighton Psychologist Mark Grixti

Dr Mark Grixti, is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist working in Brighton & Hove.

He is a qualified and experienced in both child therapy and adult therapy. He is a skilled consultant in Brainspotting Therapy and an accredited EMDR consultant.

Mark completed the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Surrey University, and is a Chartered member of The British Psychology Society and the Health Professions Council. Mark previously worked as a Psychologist in the NHS but has been in private practice for many years. He has psychotherapy experience across the age range from children and adolescents through to working age and older adults. He is a registered healthcare provider for a number of independent healthcare companies (i.e. BUPA, AXA PPP) as well as for those who are self-funding.

Much of Mark’s therapy is in complex trauma and he is also experienced in working with; anxiety, depression, loss, grief and bereavement, physical trauma, family relationships and separation, foster care, adoption, parenting, attachment and adjustment issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sexual behaviour problems, headaches and migraines, phantom limb pain, pre-operation preparations, and a number of other emotional difficulties.

Mark considers it both a pleasure and an honour to have been invited into the lives of so many different people from many cultures and backgrounds. In reflection of the diversity required to be effective in this work, he adopts a flexible and integrative approach that incorporates Brainspotting Therapy, cognitive behavioural (CBT), EMDR, psychodynamic and system/family therapies to work towards the goals and health of each individual.

In addition to his clinical work Mark is an international trainer is psychotherapy, university lecturer, facilitates group programs and supervises Clinical Psychologists and therapists from related disciplines. Mark also provides consultation to Health, Education, Media and Social Care institutions.
